Trademarks are legal assurances of the genuine origins of the materials and services they identify. Numerous words and symbols represent Scientology’s many component parts. Indeed, the words Dianetics, Scientology and Scientologist are themselves trademarks, which along with the other marks prevent unauthorized use of the names, symbols and materials of Scientology, thus guaranteeing the purity of the religion and its practices. L. Ron Hubbard registered the Scientology Symbol as a trademark in 1958 and today RTC has over 7,000 trademark registrations in over 200 countries around the world.

TRADEMARKS

SCIENTOLOGY SYMBOL

The Scientology Symbol is a trademark incorporating the letter S for Scientology, the lower triangle is the ARC Triangle (Affinity, Reality and Communication) and the upper triangle is the KRC Triangle (Knowledge, Responsibility and Control). This trademark identifies materials and services of the Scientology religion.

SCIENTOLOGY CROSS

The Scientology Cross is a trademark, the eight points representing the eight dynamics of life.

DIANETICS SYMBOL

Introduced in 1950, the Symbol of Dianetics is a trademark whose stripes represent the four dynamics of Dianetics—Self, Sex and Family, Groups and Mankind.

SEA ORG SYMBOL

The Sea Org Symbol is a trademark consisting of a laurel wreath that represents victory and a five-pointed star that is a symbol of the spirit. The symbol represents the religious order of the Scientology religion.

DIVISION 6 SYMBOL

This symbol is a trademark used with introductory services and materials. It represents the ARC Triangle (Affinity, Reality and Communication) interwoven with the symbol for infinity.

LRH DEVICE

The LRH Device is a trademark used to identify certain Scientology materials and jewelry.

OT SYMBOL

This symbol is an abbreviation for Operating Thetan, a person or a being who can be at cause over life, matter, energy, space and time.

SOLO NOTs SYMBOL

The Solo NOTs (Solo NED for OTs) Symbol is a trademark representing one of the highest levels of spiritual advancement on The Bridge to Total Freedom. The symbol consists of the OT Symbol and a single seagull representing purity of spirit.

SCIENTOLOGY MINISTER’S CROSS

The rounded Scientology Cross is a trademark worn by ordained ministers of Scientology Churches.

RON SIGNATURE

The Ron Signature is a trademark used for L. Ron Hubbard publications.
